Feel free to put your new flatware set in the dishwasher or clean it by hand—you do you.
If washing by hand, do not use abrasive brushes and be sure to rinse and dry immediately afterwards.
If using a dishwasher, load forks and spoons handle down. Place knives in a separate basket with the blade down to prevent scratching and contact with other metals.
To extend the life of your flatware, be sure to wash immediately after use. Some food is harsh to stainless steel and can cause pitting, erosion and discoloration if left on the cutlery for long periods of time.
